Other Professors

Professor Jane Winn
I took International Trade Law ith Professor Jane Winn... The thing I remember the most about her is her wry sense of humor and her encyclopedic, meandering style of teaching... she made a course on something as technical as WTO case law intellectually stimulating, which is quite an achievement... We also had some rather fascinating correspondence....
Professor Winn distributing patteesa upon her returning from India

She decided to fit int a shalwar kameez in India because she noticed that (for reasons beyond her speculative abilities) women in Delhi did not wear skirts.... But more shockingly she decided to show up in the same clothes in UW... The only time I saw someone wear this garment in the law school...

Professor Walter J. Walsh

The political philosophy course that I took with him, titled "Theories of Justice" was one of the high points of my time in Seattle... Those were beautiful days... We had class every alternative day... And before each class we had to produce essays commenting on the assigned readings... It was a perfect life-style of reading, writing and cooking that I enjoyed in those days... The writings produced in that course are uploaded elsewhere on this blog

Professor Premji Pehlajrai

My Indian philosophy instructor... A former Silicon Valley IT professional who decided at some stage to turn his back on the glitter of the world around him and explore the ancient wisdom of India... a thorough scholar and a gem of a person... A committed teacher... We had many unfinished conversations in Hindi as well as English... Writings produced in that course are also uploaded on this blog...
